Faculty research and creative activity
The College's more than 900 faculty members conduct research and produce creative work in wide-ranging fields of study.
These renowned scholars include Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellows, Pultizer Prize winners, and members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. They've won top awards in their fields, from the Erwin Schrödinger Prize to the McClintock Prize for Plant Genetics and Genome Studies. And they've secured millions of dollars in research funding from the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and other major funders.
Their efforts are supported by a robust Research I enterprise that provides guidance on every aspect of the research process—from developing a proposal to applying for a patent.
